Aggregates and mining
Long conveyors, dust, vibration and underground zones
Quarries and mining installations combine three factors that destroy ordinary equipment: abrasive dust, constant vibration and wide temperature swings. A safety device failing in such an installation means not just production downtime, but direct risk to personnel working near belts and crushers.
Long conveyors are protected with rope pull switches in rugged construction, from die-cast metal or stainless steel. Coverage of up to 250 metres per device reduces the number of installation points and the length of electrical cable runs.
Belt misalignment is a frequent cause of damage and fire. Python series alignment switches have two sets of contacts — one signals deviation at an early stage, the other stops the installation when the limit is exceeded.

Sector-specific requirements
- ■Resistance to dust, vibration and mechanical shock
- ■Coverage on conveyors hundreds of metres long
- ■ATEX variants for underground explosion-risk zones
- ■Purely mechanical systems operating without power
- ■Belt deviation detection before damage occurs
- ■Resistance to extreme temperatures and humidity
