IP69K hygiene, sterilisation and corrosive environments

Pharmaceutical manufacturing demands three things that rarely go together: sterility, chemical resistance and mechanical reliability. Equipment undergoes CIP and SIP procedures, is exposed to solvents and aggressive cleaning agents, and any contamination can compromise an entire batch.

Mirror-polished 316 stainless steel resists corrosion and retains no particles. IP67 and IP69K testing guarantees sealing during steam sterilisation and pressure washing. The absence of cavities and exposed threads simplifies validation of cleaning procedures.

In areas with active powders or volatile solvents, ATEX requirements apply. The range includes devices certified for Zones 1, 21, 2 and 22, with Exd IIC T6 contact blocks — the same safety function, but with integrated explosion protection and no additional enclosures.
