Trapped Key Tongue Interlock with Dual Key and Lockout Dust Cover
The SS-TD-11-LT Trapped Key Interlock operates by using a tongue actuator lock mechanism, which is locked when the first key is removed. Operating the first key allows the secondary key to be released, unlocking the actuator and allowing access to the hazardous area. The secondary key (often referred to as the personnel key) is taken inside the hazardous area to reduce the likelihood of an inadvertent start-up.

Please note that for trapped key access locks, either a key or an actuator must be ordered with the product. This is required for manufacturing, as the internal mechanism must be configured to trap one of these parts. For assistance, please contact the IDEM Sales team.
